ANNUAL AWARDS POLICY

Most Improved Golfer

This award is given annually to the WSMGA member whose handicap index makes the most improvement during the golf year as defined by the USGA's Most Improved Golfer algorithm. In order to qualify for this award, the golfer must have been a member in good standing of the WSMGA during the current golf year and had an established handicap during the proscribed award period. The award measures handicap index improvement during the November 1 (previous golf season) thru October 15 (current golf season) time period.

Player of the Year

The Player of the Year Award is given annually to the WSMGA member who accumulates the most points during the golf season. Points are awarded for each WSMGA tournament for both participation and performance as well as placing in the top ten for the Most Improved Golfer Award. Performance points are given to members who win any of the places paid out for that particular tournament. The participation and performance points for each tournament are determined

annually by the Tournament Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. These points should be listed in the tournament descriptions posted for each tournament.
