SMGA 2-Man 24-Ball Tournament Results
Champions: Ray Krawiec and Jim Banta
On Monday, December 16th, under cold, gray skies and on a soggy golf course, the final tournament of the 2024 calendar year - but first tournament of the 2025 POY season - was played by 26 2-man teams. Jim Banta set the tone early on the first hole with a chip-in birdie on #12 (net Eagle), Ray Krawiec followed that with a par (net birdie), and the twosome never looked back from that early 3-stroke lead, finishing 11 under on the day. Mark Humphlett and David Nieman finished 3 strokes back in second place.
Runners Up: Mark Humphlett and David Nieman
Jeff Sanborn had CTTP on #6, Jerry Matthews had CTTP on both #11 and #13.
Congratulations to the top ten finishers who have an early 2025 pro shop credit and a place atop the early POY standings for 2025:

2nd - Mark Humphlett & David Nieman
3rd - Kevin Ahrens and Jon Thompson
4th - Dennis Branch & Johnnie Wofford
5th - Bill Wall & Jim Nease
6th - Roger Ross & Brad Wilson
7th - Wayne Judy & Wilbur Vanderlinden
8th - Mike Bertolani & Paolo Leardini

2025 SMGA 4-MAN 40-BALL TOURNAMENT
2025 SMGA 4-Man 40-ball Champs: Ray Krawiec, Archie Burdett, Jon Thompson, and Jonathan Kauffman
This year’s 4-Man 40-Ball is in the books, and it ended in exciting fashion! On the final hole of play, Archie Burdett aced the 15th hole for his first Hole-in-One! That proved to be what the team needed as that helped put them in a tie for the lead and ultimately take top prize in a scorecard playoff.
Congratulations to all the players and Woodmont staff for making this such a fun day! The storms we had the night before forced CPO, but a beautiful sunny day didn’t dampen any spirits and the competition was tight. 1st and 2nd places, as well as 4th, 5th, and 6th places all were decided by scorecard playoffs!
The final results are:
1st Place: 20 under - Jonathan Kaufman, Jon Thompson, Archie Burdett, and Raymond Krawiec
2nd Place: 20 under – Joseph Leist, Greg Cooke, Wayne Judy, and Larry Clausen
3rd Place: 17 under – Ken Harlan, Bill Lam, Tom Gambeski, and Gene Olsten
4th Place: 15 under - Kevin Ahrens, John Lindemann, Michael Farrell, and Johnnie Wofford
5th Place: 15 under - Tom Guthrie, William Wall, Jeff Moore, and Roger Ross
6th Pace: 15 under - Keith Mann, Jeff Sanborn, Paolo Leardini, and Leo Brandino
Almost 50% of the participants receive a prize payout! The prize payouts are as follows:
1st Place Team: $500.00
2nd Place Team: $400.00
3rd Place Team: $360.00
4th Place Team: $300.00
5th Place Team: $240.00
